This blog is about the practice of gratitude and thankfulness because Amal Academy taught me that the simplest yet most effective present you can give someone is a sincere appreciation. Putting those great notions into words and sharing them with the people who helped you, is an act of leadership.

So, I wrote three letters and made one card for the people who gave me lollipop moments. I wrote a letter to my younger sister and my Mamu (Uncle) and made a card and letter for my friend. These people are the ones I wanted to express my gratitude for their generosity, encouragement, and support.

I was experiencing mixed emotions as I made the card and wrote the letters. Remembering such times made me feel joyful, excited, overwhelmed, and delighted all at once.

While giving the letter to my younger sister I was very excited. Despite the fact that my Mamu (Uncle) and I are quite open with one another, I felt a little shy as I handed him the letter. The letter was well-liked by my sister and my Mamu (uncle). I haven’t yet given the card and letter to my friend because I want to give her that in person to see how she responds.

I think this is a much-needed activity that everyone should do to acknowledge the people around them for their contribution to their lives.
